Medicare
Should veterans use Medicare or VA benefits?
Veterans can and should use both β they're not mutually exclusive. VA covers care at VA facilities; Medicare covers any Medicare provider nationwide. The two systems don't coordinate. Veterans relying solely on VA have no Medicare coverage outside VA facilities. Most veterans' advocates recommend enrolling in Part B when first eligible.
